Regional meetings

Matthew Ross

Regional events will take place around Scotland. These will include videos from the Glasgow conference, with four speakers – two pro-Union and two pro-Independence:

Revd Dr Maggie McTernan – former Labour councillor in Glasgow

Murdo Fraser MSP – Scottish Conservative & Unionist Party

Stephen Noon – former Director of Strategy for Yes Scotland (2014)

Kate Forbes MSP – Scottish National Party

The video presentations will be followed by discussions, based on a principle of respectful dialogue and “discernment in common” principles.

St Andrews, Fife, Monday 29th January 2024: University Chaplaincy, Mansefield, 3 St Mary’s Place, St Andrews, 7 pm.

Elgin, Moray, Saturday 10th February 2024: Williamson Hall, Elgin, 10 am.

Prestwick, Ayrshire, Wednesday 21st February 2024: St Nicholas Parish Church, Prestwick, 7 pm.

Lanark, Thursday 22nd February 2024: Greyfriars Church, Bloomgate, Lanark, ML11 9ET, 7 pm.

Oban, Argyll, Thursday 29th February 2024: Kilmore & Oban Parish Church (Church of Scotland), Oban, evening (start time to be confirmed).

Kirkwall, Orkney, Saturday 9th March 2024: Kirkwall East Church, 12 noon. More details to follow.

Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, Tuesday 12th March 2024: Martins Memorial Church, Stornoway. Evening; more details to follow.

Thurso, Caithness, Tuesday 26th March 2024: St Peter’s & the Holy Rood Church. Evening; more details to follow.

    I would very much welcome the opportunity to take part in a regional event re Faith in Scotland’s constitutional future and would welcome information regarding these discussion opportunities . I am sadly unable to attend the meeting in Glasgow on the 7th of October . Carole Downie , member of St Andrews church Arbroath .

      Thanks Carole. We hope to have a regional events in Dundee and Aberdeen – hopefully you’ll be able to get to one of these.
